Sea Sponges come in all shapes, sizes, colours and textures and no two look the same. This uniqueness is what makes sea sponges so amazing, however at PureSponges we realise that people's requirements and preferences are just as unique. That is why at PureSponges you receive the actual sponge that you have ordered.

We photograph and number each sponge individually and therefore the sponge you receive will be the sponge seen on the photo. We also understand that the texture and density of the sponge is just as important as the shape and size of the sponge and we often provide additional information to help you make your choice.

Because at PureSponges each sponge has its own "Sponge ID" we cannot send out two sponges with the same number. If you order more than one sponge with the same ID we will automatically send the closest match we have in stock.

Looking After Your Sponge

Rinse your sponge with clean water after every use and squeeze the water gently out
Allow your sponge to dry between uses
Dry your sponge on a drying rack to allow the air to circulate around the sponge - or turn it over frequently
To remove excess water from your sponge: Fold a towel over the sponge and squeeze - leave your sponge to air dry

A Few Don’ts
Do not leave your sponge in an airing cupboard or on a radiator – it will become very dry and brittle
Do not clean your sponge with chemicals
Do not put your sponge in the washing machine
Do not wring your sponge excessively

Thorough Cleanse
Should you feel that you need to give your sponge a thorough cleanse once in a while you can use one of the following methods:
1. A solution of 1 or 2 drops of tea tree oil and 1 cup warm water
2. A solution of 1 tbsp. cider vinegar in 1 cup of water
3. A solution of 1 tbsp. baking soda in 1 cup of warm water.
4. A solution of 1 tsp. Colloidal Silver to 1 cup warm water.
5. A solution of 1/2 hydrogen peroxide and 1/2 water
